Mike Brimson writes original music as a response to past and present events both local and global. His diverse compositions range from writing music for an Italian wedding, capturing the horrors experienced by an Irish World War One soldier to responding and reflecting upon the tragedy of terrorism.
He also writes for a wide assortment of ensembles, in a variety of styles.

A music teacher for over 20 years, he has written original pieces for woodwind and brass in schools and is able to match individual parts to the ability of the available performers in any combination.

The original pieces that are currently available for individual instrumentalists have been given a graded level to give an idea of the technical musicianship required in order to perform them competently.

He is available to compose/or arrange pieces of music (subject to obtaining copyright permission) in order to cater for music teachers who may not have the time or experience to arrange standard or contemporary music to stimulate the interest and ability of their students.

He has written original works for Brass Band, String Orchestras and Wind Ensembles and has arranged other pieces when requested. His original music has been performed locally and abroad and his arrangements have also been performed in Canterbury Cathedral.

He is available to compose original bespoke music and is available to undertake commissions.
